...that I love you By Stone Bryson
The time is coming close, when we’ll have to say good-bye, although parting was inevitable it still makes me want to cry. My spirit has that urge to roam and you, my darling, have goals of your own, but that doesn’t mean I’ll forget you. I know we shared our passions, I know we shared our dreams, we broke the laws of society, practicalities unredeemed. I told you that I cared for you, I told you I believed, I told you I’d be loyal to you and never would deceive. But I never had a chance to tell you… …that I love you.
I’m sure you will forget me, and you know I’ll understand, the rose will fade and whither and die and you’ll fall for another man. Maybe separation will break my heart but believe, my darling, I will survive the part, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need you. I know we shared our money, I know we shared our kiss, our friendship turned to something more with such a delightful twist. I told you that I trusted you, I told you we were friends, I told you that was most important and should never, ever end. But I never had a chance to tell you… …that I love you.
We dived into the present, without the future being a chance, instead of a life-long love affair we bathed in a short romance. I know that this movie, will play to its end then you, my darling, will just be my friend, but that doesn’t mean I won’t miss you. I know we shared our histories, shared our cigarettes, Took ourselves to the edge of love without any regrets. I told you that you’re perfect, I told you I was damned, told you that you deserved much more than this wayward, hopeless man. But I never had a chance to tell you… …that I love you.
