Get Your Work Featured On Alt-Experience

I am now accepting poetry submissions to be featured here on Alt-Experience. I am looking for intelligent and exciting poets, people who take the art seriously and are not afraid to write about the darker realms. With that noted, there are a few things I request you consider before submitting your poem here.

First and foremost, your submission must have a certain kind of subject matter; after all, poems about sunshine and puppies do not exactly fit with the whole 'Alt Experience' vibe. A good way to determine whether your work will be a solid match for this site is to revisit the home page and read the introduction.

Secondly, a certain standard has been been established here when it comes to rhythm and rhyme; this will be reflected in what is posted from your submissions. Regarding rhythm, the poem should read smoothly and have an identifiable cadence that is relatively easy to follow. As to rhyme, while is does not have to fall into an absolute pattern it should have similar sounds. For example, rhyming 'day' and bait' is OK; it does not have to be exact, but is should read well. I guess the best way to put it regarding rhythm and rhyme is like this - your submission should read like a 'song without music.'

Lastly, the poem must be yours (I do NOT take kindly to those who steal other people's work and claim it as their own). Of course, your copyrights will be vigorously honored, and since I no longer request exclusive posting rights for the first month you can now submit previously-posted work, as long as there are no publishing rights being violated.

(Oh, and a side note; please pay close attention to punctuation, capitalization, and spelling. These are so important to enhancing the enjoyment of reading a poem, so please make sure your work is EXACTLY as you wish it to be featured. This can also affect whether or not I chose to post it here)
